BATO'S WARNING: Operation of police officers, paralyzed when P131.5-B budget is disapproved next year..

MANILA, Phils. - Philippine National Police Director General Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa warned that their operation may be paralyzed when their proposed budget for next year is not approved in the House.

"If it's not approved, then sorry, what can we do? Do not worry about that, we do not ask for that for our pocket. We ask for the PNP's work in order to fulfill our mandate that is to serve and protect, "said Dela Rosa in press briefing. Dela Rosa also said that they might force them to "close shop" when their budget requirements were not approved "What will we do? What we can buy is fuel to run our patrol cars. What will we spend on this electricity bill here in our office if we do not pay for it, it's just that life, "Dela Rosa added.

The PNP, an agency under the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), has demanded P20-B increase in their budget with a total of P131.5-B. In that budget, P900-M will be handed over to the implementation of "Oplan Double Barrel Reloaded", the second version of "Oplan Tokhang." Recall that during the recent slaughter that killed police-Caloocan in the 17-year-old student Kian delos Santos, several lawmakers questioned the huge budget increase for "Tokhang 2."
